Arts and Older People Networking Day - 24 May 2002

Following the successful events last year to launch the Arts and Older People Handbook, Yorkshire Arts is now supporting further events in 2002. The first will be held on Friday 24 th May at Thackray Medical Museum.

The day will begin at 10.30am, and the morning workshop will be presented by Magic Me, well known for their development of intergenerational work.

In the afternoon there will be further presentations on projects demonstrating the value of arts work with older people and the stimulation, learning and enjoyment offered by such projects.

This will be followed by an opportunity to discuss ideas which have been put forward for setting up a network of artists and organisations who include arts in their work with older people. Possible future themes for the network, information development, and events will be put forward based on the feedback from earlier meetings. There will also be a discussion group for setting up an older artists network.

This event offers activity and discussions of interest to all those involved in the arts and older people. We hope you will join us.
