Job Vacancy - Hospital/shopping support worker £6.92 ph
16 hrs pw until March 2011. (This post is subject to funding and is renewed on an annual basis) This post has occurred due to a re-structuring of the team. Some of the hours will be to provide internet shopping and shopping for people in their own homes as part of the netneighbours scheme. The other part of the post will be to support older people as they leave hospital. You must be computer literate, have an understanding of issues relating to older people, flexible with time and hours and be able to work on your own as well as part of a team. Experience is not required, but full licence and access to a car when working is essential (expenses paid). An enhanced CRB is required. Full training will be given. Hospital Services Overnight Volunteers - ad hoc basis Hospital services require overnight volunteers to support older people in their own homes upon leaving hospital, intermediate care or after having day surgery. You will be required to sleep overnight in the older person's home for up to three nights. Although this is a sleeping night, you may be called upon during the night to provide reassurance and possibly assist with personal tasks. You will need to have a positive attitude and a caring, friendly disposition. Experience is not necessary although you will be required to undertake training. Expenses paid. An enhanced CRB disclosure will be required.
